Most homes today have some kind of internet installed for work and for play. However, with so many different choices of internet providers, how do you know which is the best for you? The three basic types you can install in your home are DSL, Broadband and Satellite internet. With anything, each one has their attributes and downfalls.
DSL is convenient for anyone who already has a telephone subscriptions and it is available in more areas than cable can be. DSL is also the best choice for those customers who play frequent games online. DSL is not, however, the best choice for people who do heavy downloading and is not helpful with families who need more than two computers to be able to use the internet.
Broadband is the best choice for those who do heavy file sharing or downloading and is a good choice for gamers. When combined with television and phone packages, can be a good way to save money. Because you share your bandwidth, you may not be able to use multiple devices with Broadband internet.
Satellite internet is very useful for those that live in remote areas and can also be much faster than other options, since the signal comes from space. However, satellite internet can be expensive to install and the signal may be unreliable if you live in a heavily wooded area or when the weather is bad.
